In this field of work, workers are exposed to day to day activities which involve testing and maintaining response equipment. These tasks can be a common cause of injury in the workplace, and as such, understanding how to undertake these tasks safely is imperative. Without proper training, employees can make mistakes and even suffer serious injury.

This training in this course allows you to develop the skills and knowledge to undertake many facets of preparing, maintaining and testing response equipment, they will inspect equipment according to organisation's procedures, clean equipment while safely using cleaning agents and chemicals and have an understanding on occupational health and safety policies relevant to the maintenance, servicing and testing of equipment.

Course Delivery

This course can be delivered/assessed in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider.

Course Durations

Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.

Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 4 Hours

Physical capability to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills

Holding the pre-requisite unit PUAFIR210 Prevent injury (* only if undertaking training related to the fire sector)

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.

This certificate does not require renewal

 Performance tasks: 

  • Inspect response equipment 

  • Test response equipment 

  • Clean, maintain and store equipment 

 

Documentation – Completion of an Equipment Inspection Lists, Equipment Test Results, Equipment Fault Logs, and Equipment Maintenance and Cleaning Log forms. 

 

Theory assessment - A written exam consisting of multiple-choice question and short answer questions to be completed at the end of the training session.
