This course set equips participants with skills that are required working within the construction and alike industries. Whether working as an individual alone or as part of a team/work group and working in liaison with other team members, if you are a 'permit recipient' or 'permit holder' required to conduct work activities under the authority of an issued permit to work and within the context and requirements of that permit, then this course is a must for you. The Work in Accordance with an Issued Permit course teaches participants the skills and knowledge needed to to work in accordance with a permit which has been issued. It aims to ensure that people working under a permit to work understand the system, know the limitations of the permit under which they are working and comply with all the requirements of the permit.

Additionally, the Enter and Work in Confined Space course is designed to teach participants how to identify confined space hazards, work safely within confined spaces according to an issued permit and operate various confined space safety equipment. This training is required for anyone who may be required to act as a standby, operate gas detectors or to safely and efficiently enter and work in a confined space. Confined spaces are commonly found in tanks, ducts, flues, chimneys, containers or other similar enclosed or partially enclosed structures. They pose dangers because they are usually not designed to be areas where people work.

Finally, the Gas Test Atmospheres course is for those individuals who may be required to carry out gas testing of an atmosphere prior to entering a specific area or workspace. Such as working environments which may be hazardous, unpredictable, subject to time pressure, chaotic and expose responders to risk, on land or water, by day or night. Or workplace atmospheres which may include visible and invisible hazards and hazardous surfaces. It covers the skills and knowledge required to test the working atmosphere using electronic test apparatus, to find out if it is safe for the proposed work, interpret readings and take actions based on the interpretation.

Licensing, legislation, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to RIIWHS202D Enter and work in confined spaces can vary between states, territories and industry sectors. Relevant information must be sourced prior to the application of the unit.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to MSMPER200 Work in accordance with an issued permit or MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres at the time of publication.

The skills in this course are applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards.
